Cody, Wyoming is known as the gateway to the east of Yellowstone. It's about an hour's drive to the entrance, and will take you through some of the most scenic miles in all of America. Make Cody central to your trip by finding lodging here.
Famous Buffalo Bill Cody founded this town in 1896. When you are close to Yellowstone National Park, you can stop to see Buffalo Bill's original hunting lodge. If you drive to the northeast entrance to the park, you will go through Sunlight Basin on a beautiful drive. Also be sure to stop to visit the Buffalo Bill Historical Center with its many western exhibits.
