For those considering hotels in this area, here are a few other words of wisdom to consider. The term "hotel" in a big metropolitan city usually infers a complete, self-sufficient property with restaurant and 24-hour room service, on-site concierge, transportation and airport shuttle options, shopping and entertainment choices on-site, as well as convention and group meeting spaces. Though this description does represent a fair number of properties around Yellowstone, it is not as many as would be in say Chicago, LA or New York. Properties that may list themselves in our HOTEL category may offer a 'hotel-like' experience but may not offer the complete mix of features and amenities expected in larger cities. That doesn't mean they are any less worthy of your patronage - we just recommend that you have an open mind when considering these classic definitions of what should and "will be" included within a HOTEL stay around Yellowstone. Virtually all properties (listed under HOTELS) will have some sort of breakfast, pool and hot tub, some sort of workout facility or gym equipment, visitor-accessible PC or business center, some WiFi choices, and be in close proximity to nearby dining and shopping options.
